The Caddicarus Show (usually referred to as simply Caddicarus) is a British comedy game review web series created by Jim Caddick. In this series, Caddy explores many different "worlds" of gaming culture; these subjects can range from licensed PS1 games, to Kinect games, to video game commercials.

The original iteration of The Caddicarus Show ran from May 9th, 2012 until December 20th, 2019. This series was marked by 10-30 minute individual game reviews, usually on PS1 games. The show also had top 10/20 episodes - these episodes were considered a separate series until they were incorporated into The Caddicarus Show in 2017. From "Fade to Black" (season 1, episode 4) until the end of season 10, he would decide whether or not a game deserved to be "slaughtered" or "salvaged" - if a game was "slaughtered", he would shoot it with a toy pistol, and if a game was "salvaged", it would be sent to the heavens with a Star Trek phaser toy. This format was dropped in Season 11, as Caddy felt he needed to evolve beyond gimmicks and formulas.[1] The show would continue to experiment with different formats and topics until the complete retool in 2020 that resulted in the original series being abruptly ended.

From seasons 1 to 5, episodes didn't release on a fixed schedule; the channel would randomly cycle between any of the 4-5 shows at the time for the Sunday upload, and therefore it was never clear as to exactly when a mainline Caddicarus episode would be uploaded. From seasons 6 to 13, the show uploaded every week, with the weekly schedule starting to flounder around 2019 due to the videos gradually becoming longer and more ambitious to produce in such a short time.

New series - 2020-present[]

In a last ditch effort to save his channel from stagnation,[2] the series was completely rebooted in January 2020, with the schedule and formulas going away in favor of much longer videos with higher production value and writing quality. From this point onward, Caddy would no longer consider himself a 'critic',[3] now going into each video with the intention to joke about many video games rather than critically pick apart an individual game.[4] These newer episodes are marked by view counts that consistently hit the millions, the "World of" title format, video lengths that range from 30 minutes to two and a half hours, and Caddy taking a look at many games in one video.

In the time since this reboot has rejuvenated his channel and given him his largest figures yet, he has expressed regret towards his pre-2020 content, tagging every older video with the "[OLD]" label and cementing the separation between the two iterations of The Caddicarus Show.
